Communication Systems Lab Software Defined Radio

The laboratory helps us in developing skills to work upon different RF range and communications protocol. Makes us understand the theoretical concepts through experiments which involves generation, transmissin, reception and analysis of radio frequency signals based upon multiple frequency and protocol for communication.


Software Defined Radio: It combines the power of NI LabVIEW software and USRP hardware to deliver an affordable and easy-to-use software-reconfigurable RF platform that works well for communications education, experimentation, research, and rapid prototyping.
--> NI USRP-2920: 50Hz to 2.5GHz Software Radio
--> NI USRP-2921: 2.4GHz to 2.5GHz and 4.9GHz to 5.9GHz

FEKO Antenna Design Software: FEKO is a comprehensive electromagnetic simulation software tool, based on state of art computational electromagnetic (CEM) techniques. It help us to develop the anetnna through SMT lab that we frequently use in SDR and other RF instruments.

RF Testing Instruments: ATS-20 Antenna Kit

--> PLL Synthesized Reciever: 0.005-2GHz.
--> Stepper Motor Controller Unit.

Vector Signal Generator:

--> Rohde and Schwarz : 0-3GHz & 0-6GHz.

Vector Network Analyzer: Agilent : 300KHz-20GHz.
